Please Join Us to Celebrate Our First Anniversary
Please join us on Wednesday, October 24, 2018, from 4 until 6:30 p.m. to celebrate the first anniversary of Residence Inn Raleigh Downtown!
Raleigh’s First Downtown Hotel LEED Certification Achieved by Residence Inn Raleigh Downtown
Also being celebrated on October 24th is our achievement of the LEED® Silver certification by the U.S. Green Building Council as verified by the Green Building Certification Institute (GBCI). Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) is the nation’s preeminent program for the design, construction, and operation of high-performance green buildings. As a 175-room property located next to the Raleigh Convention Center, the Residence Inn Raleigh Downtown is the first Downtown Raleigh hotel to achieve LEED status.
“We are proud to have achieved this prestigious distinction which was a goal of our development partnership with the City of Raleigh,” said R. Doyle Parrish, President of Summit Hospitality Group. “At the top of our priority list for this project was long-term sustainability and good environmental stewardship.”
Other key members of the development team who contributed to the successful LEED® Silver certification are Overcash Demmitt Architects, ColeJenest Stone Engineers, Clancy & Theys General Contractors, and Building EnergetiCx Commissioning Agent / LEED Consultants.
The Residence Inn Downtown Raleigh’s LEED certification was based on a number of green design and operational features that positively impact the project itself and the broader community as an urban brownfield redevelopment site. According to the hotel’s General Manager Pete Byers, the culture of LEED is to continually search and identify new methods, products and ways to improve operations.
